Vince Boggia, Heart Disease
Vince has a family history of heart disease.  His father succumbed to a heart attack at 57 years of age, Vince’s exact age when he visited Gregory Chambon, MD, his physician at College Park Family Care Center in Overland Park in February 2009. “It was my annual physical,” says Vince.  “I’m a stickler for preventative medicine.”

“The bad news is I failed the test and was suddenly a cardiac patient,” says Vince.  “The good news is the doctors caught the situation before an irreversible health crisis occurred.” Read More

Lisa Butler, Trauma Patient
On July 18, Lisa was the passenger on a motorcycle traveling 65 miles per hour on Highway K-7 when the motorcycle was sideswiped by a car. The airlift summoned to the scene transported Lisa to Overland Park Regional Medical Center (OPRMC), an American College of Surgeons accredited Level II Regional Trauma Center, where a team of emergency technicians, doctors and nurses quickly assessed her condition.  Lisa’s pelvis was shattered in five places and had shifted 90 degrees on impact.  She also suffered from a broken arm, fractured leg and myriad injuries. Isaac Perkins, Arm Fracture
When Isaac took a nasty spill while bike-riding with a friend on Feb. 7, 2009, Todd remembers pulling into the family’s subdivision after work that afternoon and receiving a phone call from a frantic neighbor.  “Isaac and her son were maneuvering their bikes down a hill and lost control,” says Todd. “His friend and his bike crashed down on top of Isaac, slamming him into the concrete.”

Todd scooped up his son, who had an obvious arm injury, and rushed him to the Emergency Department at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Read More
