Danielle, an overland park mom, gave birth to her second baby, a girl, in April. The baby, who was born with a rare abdominal defect, omphalocele, is being watched over 24 hours a day by the neonatologists, pediatric doctors and nurses at the level III NICU at Overland Park Regional Medical Center, a part of HCA Midwest Health, the largest provider of care for high-risk mothers and their unborn babies. Dr. Corey W. Iqbal, medical director of pediatric surgery and fetal surgery, discusses the surgery he'll perform on this baby to correct the defect when she's four to six months old.
