If the idea of walking your way to fitness in a comfortable, environmentally controlled atmosphere sounds good to you, mark your calendar to come to the kick-off of the new Overland Park Pacesetters Mall Walking Program at Oak Park Mall on Friday, July 12 at 7:30am in Dillard’s South Court. The program is collaboration between Overland Park Regional Medical Center and Oak Park Mall.  Overland Park Regional Medical Center is part of HCA Midwest Health System—Kansas City's largest healthcare provider and largest private sector employer.

Register for the program at the event and receive a t-shirt, water bottle and exercise towel—everything you need to look and feel your best while you walk your way to fitness. Plus tasty light breakfast fare will be provided compliments of Panera Bread and free skin cancer screenings will be offered by Holly McCoppin, MD, Dermatologist, from the Mohs Dermatologic Surgery, College Park Specialty Center.

"Partnerships like this one with Oak Park Mall and the Mall Walkers allow Overland Park Regional Medical Center to better achieve our vision of keeping our community healthier," says Damond Boatwright, Chief Executive Officer, Overland Park Regional Medical Center.  "We are grateful for organizations such as Oak Park which offer the community ways to improve their health and fitness. Our physicians and employees are excited to be a part of this important Oak Park Mall initiative."

"Oak Park Mall is excited to kick off this Mall Walker partnership with Overland Park Regional Medical Center and provide a community venue for year-round fitness,” says Karla S. Rocker, General Manager, Oak Park Mall.  “We are delighted to be part of the Overland Park community and continue our dedication with this expanded new program."

Rain or shine, Oak Park Mall opens daily for mall walkers at 6:30 a.m. The entire distance, walking along both the upper and lower levels, is just over one and a half miles.  The Overland Park Pacesetters program will also feature regularly scheduled health checks with the medical professionals from Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
