The emergency room at Overland Park Regional Medical Center is home to Johnson County’s only Level II Trauma Center. Our board–certified physicians and critical care nurses treat older patients in a patient room that specifically address the complex medical issues faced by elderly patients. Our geriatric emergency patient rooms include thicker mattresses to reduce bedsores, nonskid floors and handrails along the walls.
Our fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopedic surgeons use state-of-the-art techniques and implants to fix fractures that may not otherwise be repairable and get patients mobile faster.
Our Orthopedic Unit provides post-surgery care. Our highly trained nurses and orthopedic surgeons co-manage care with a board-certified Geriatric Medicine Hospitalist to handle the unique medical needs of elderly patients. This results in fewer complications after surgery. Our team also offers skilled discharge planning to help you achieve the best possible recovery.
