Full-service women's care

No matter what stage of life you are in, our women's care specialists are here to help maintain your gynecologic, reproductive and breast health. We treat a full spectrum of conditions and provide specialized women's care in gynecology, breast imaging, oncology, obstetrics and urogynecology.

Breast screening and women's imaging

Regular breast imaging is key to maintaining your long-term health. Identifying breast abnormalities in their beginning stages helps us begin treatment before a breast condition reaches its advanced stages.

In addition to screening mammograms and 3D mammography, we provide several breast imaging options. We perform breast ultrasounds and breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans. If an abnormality is identified, we offer biopsy services, including stereotactic breast biopsy, to gather additional information.

Schedule a Mammogram

You can now schedule a screening mammogram online. For assistance scheduling your screening or diganostic mammogram please call 913-541-5062.

Screening mammograms are offered at in the Doctors' Medical Building at 10550 Quivira Road.

We also offer genetic counseling to help women who are at a high risk for developing breast cancer. Genetic counseling helps us identify certain risk factors and form a comprehensive screening plan for prevention and early detection.

Women may also receive a dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) scan to assess bone density. As women age, we tend to lose bone density, which can lead to conditions such as osteoarthritis and osteoporosis. Using DEXA scans, our doctors can see if bone density has been lost and if a patient is at a high risk for breaking a bone.

Gynecologic services

Our gynecologists are experts in the female reproductive system. Women's bodies go through a number of changes throughout the years. That's why our gynecologic services include preventive care and treatment for gynecologic conditions. Our preventive care services include well-women checkups, pelvic exams and Pap smears.

Infertility care is available for women trying to conceive. Our reproductive endocrinologists identify any problems and offer a variety of treatment options, including in-vitro fertilization (IVF). Fertility counseling is also available to support women emotionally throughout treatment.

Some of our most common procedures include pelvic organ prolapse repair and hysterectomy (removal of the uterus). Our surgical oncology team also treats women with gynecologic cancers.

Gynecologic surgery is a field that has greatly benefited from surgical advancements, such as laparoscopy and robot-assisted technology. Women in our care have access to revolutionized surgical treatment options for conditions such as pelvic pain, vaginal bleeding, urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse.

Compared to traditional surgery, patients who receive minimally invasive gynecologic surgery often experience less postoperative pain, reduced blood loss, fewer surgical complications, shorter hospital stays and a faster overall recovery.

We proudly provide comprehensive care for women throughout their pregnancy and childbirth experience. In addition to our Healthy Arrivals program, which helps expectant mothers prepare for their child's arrival, we provide specialized care for women experiencing a high-risk pregnancy.

Our labor and delivery rooms offer many amenities to keep expectant mothers as comfortable as possible. We provide epidurals and offer alternative pain relief options. Additionally, mothers can partner with a maternity navigator before their hospital stay to develop a unique birthing plan.

Pre-register for labor and delivery

Our staff includes certified nurse-midwives (CNMs) who provide a hands-on approach during the birthing experience. Midwifery services for labor and delivery include water birth assistance, breastfeeding support, father-assisted birth and vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC). In addition to our CNMs, board-certified lactation consultants are available to assist in beginning breastfeeding during the postpartum stay.

  • Placenta previa

Our hospital is also home to the Maternal Fetal Health Center. Our maternal fetal medicine services include highly specialized care for women and their babies who may require medical or surgical treatment before childbirth.

If a newborn requires advanced medical care following birth, we have an on-site Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). We care for preemies and babies born with a medical condition requiring immediate support, such as neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS).
